Social media fonts let you style your profile in apps that give you no font menu at all. Every app on this page accepts styled Unicode text somewhere, but each one draws the line in a different place.
We built one page for each app, because a style that works in an Instagram bio can be refused in a Facebook name. Use the generator above to try a style, then open the page for your app to see exactly where it will fit.
What Every Social App Has in Common
Almost every app splits your profile into a strict username and a flexible display name. The username, like your @handle, usually accepts only plain letters, numbers and a few symbols, while the display name and bio accept styled text.
Hashtags and search are the other shared rule. They match plain letters, which means styled words in a hashtag or a keyword never link or show up in search.
Where Each App Draws the Line
A few apps go further than the rest. Facebook and LinkedIn ask for your real name in plain letters, Twitch locks your display name to your username, and Discord forces usernames to lowercase.
The pages below cover these rules one app at a time. Each one also lists the character limits for that app’s bio, name and posts.
How to Pick the Right Page
Start with the app where you plan to paste the text. If you post the same bio on several apps, style it for the app with the smallest limit first, which is usually TikTok with 80 characters.
When you are styling a WhatsApp message or a Discord chat, the app’s own formatting, like asterisks for bold, can do part of the job. Our pages for those apps explain when to use the built-in option and when styled text is the better fit.
